Top 5 Frequently Asked Questions – Vulcan M-61 Multi-Bench (FID)
How many stainless-steel handles are on the M-61 and what are they for?
Three.
• Foot-end floor handle: At the foot rest for lifting the bench from the floor and rolling on the wheels.
• Seat-front handle: Under the front of the seat—use it to adjust the seat angle. When the Lockdown™ pin is engaged, you can also lift the entire bench from this handle at roughly 17" height. That’s easier on the lower back and convenient if you’re fatigued post-workout.
• Back-pad handle: On the back rest so you can lift and set the back angle quickly without grabbing painted steel or upholstery.
What separates the M-61 from Rogue Manta Ray and REP BlackWing?
Commercial build with 11-gauge 2"×4" steel, reinforced adjustment rails (12 mm plate), rigid hinge design, laser-numbered ladders, upright storage with Lockdown™, and the three stainless handles above. Functionally it’s in the same top tier; Rogue’s option carries a higher branding premium, while the M-61 focuses on performance value.
What is the real weight capacity and how does it feel under load?
The M-61 is tested over 1,500 lb (static). The frame mass, wide stance, and reinforced adjustment rails keep the bench planted with no flex during heavy barbell or dumbbell work across all angles.
How practical is upright storage and daily movement?
Very. Lockdown™ secures the pads so nothing swings in storage. Use the seat-front handle (about 17" off the floor) or the foot-end floor handle with the large wheels to move the bench without awkward bending.
Which options are worth adding: leg roller, stainless rails, or 14" pad?
• Leg roller: Only if you regularly program decline presses or core work.
• Stainless rails: Recommended for frequent angle changes or humid spaces—zero paint wear and lifetime-smooth adjustment.
• 14" pad: Useful mainly for very broad torsos; the standard ~12" pad preserves natural scapular motion for most lifters.
