Description:
The Vulcan Incrementor System is designed to solve a simple problem found in every selectorized or plate-loaded machine. Weight jumps are too large to allow consistent strength progression. Most cable stacks move in 5 kg or 10 lb steps. For many lifters and with certain movements that can be too large of a jump in weight. . The Incrementor adds precise micro-loads between those steps. Each unit attaches magnetically to the top weight on a machine or stack. It can also be pinned through existing selector holes for added stability. The body is made from solid stainless steel with a fixed mass, allowing the user to increase resistance by a known and repeatable amount. The units can be used alone or in pairs and can be moved instantly from one machine to another.
Use: Select the desired load on the machine. Attach the Incrementor to the weight stack or contact surface. Begin training. The magnet and pin hold securely under dynamic load. When finished, remove and transfer to another station.
Market
Existing products such as PlateMate and MicroGainz offer magnetic micro weights for dumbbells and some machines. Other companies make stack pins or bolt-on plates. None combine magnetic coupling, pin stability, and universal compatibility in one design. The Vulcan Incrementor bridges that gap.
Purpose
To allow continuous measurable strength gains without altering equipment or sacrificing safety. A Vulcan forged solution for precision and progression.
Comparison and Advantages of the Vulcan Incrementor
What Sets the Incrementor Apart from Standard Add-On Pins
Precision
The Incrementor provides fine, consistent load increments that are smaller than standard 5 lb or 5 kg selectorized weight jumps. This allows you to apply progressive overload in smaller, measurable steps for smoother strength adaptation and easier progression through training plateaus. Standard add-on pins are limited to the weight of the attached plate (typically 2.5 to 10 lb), making true micro-progression difficult without carrying and managing several different plates.
Direct Magnetic Attachment and Balanced Load
Incrementor weights use integrated magnetized surfaces to attach directly to the weight stack or selector plate, with the 2.5 lb version also functioning as a weight pin. In our testing, this amount of weight does not affect the position of the weight stack relative to the guide rods, preserving smooth travel and alignment. Standard add-on pins depend on a steel pin through the guide hole with a plate hanging from the end; as the plate gets heavier, the load shifts off-center and can introduce lateral torque on the guide rods and selector plates.
Safe and Compact Design
Incrementor weights contain no loose plates; the magnetic connection keeps the unit locked firmly in place, preventing swinging, vibration, or unexpected movement during use. This compact, integrated design helps maintain a clean, unobstructed training area around the stack. By contrast, standard add-on pins leave external plates exposed, which can swing, vibrate, or even dislodge if the stack accelerates or decelerates quickly.
Durability and Materials
Incrementor weights are machined from solid 304 stainless steel, offering excellent resistance to corrosion, surface wear, and deformation over long-term use. This construction supports consistent performance in commercial and home environments. Standard add-on pins are often made from painted or chromed mild steel or aluminum, which can chip, bend, or degrade over time, especially under frequent loading and unloading.
Ergonomics and Efficiency
Incrementor weights are designed for one-handed placement and removal with no need for additional collars or precise plate alignment. This makes it faster and easier to adjust loads between sets or for multiple users sharing the same machine. Traditional add-on pins typically require handling separate plates and ensuring they are secure, adding extra steps that slow down training flow and can discourage frequent micro-load changes.
